The Money Confidence™ System: The Client Experience
Understanding your needs forms the heart of our service. We are committed to spending time to listen to your financial wants and needs, so that we can create a personalized plan designed just for you. Our professional experts will work with you to make sure your retirement is the one you deserve. We’ve developed a simple eight-stage process that ensures you get the support you need.
We know that everyone has different concerns about financial planning, and that relationships with money are very personal. This first step enables us to find out about your particular financial feelings, fears and challenges. We listen to what you have to say, so that we can develop an understanding about your position that will underpin our approach to planning.
You’ve worked hard all your life, and you’re ready to enjoy your well-earned retirement. But how will you make the most of your time? Will you relax, develop new hobbies or take existing ones to new levels? Or do you want to travel, return to study or build on a passion to create a new career. We want to understand your long-term plans. And don’t worry if you’re still deciding. We’ll help you think through your options.
To develop valuable planning that you can really use, we need to have a full picture of your finances, so the next step in our process includes a complete review of your current portfolio. We’ll take an inventory of your income sources, retirement assets, mortgages, personal possessions, debts, obligations, wills, insurance and income taxes. Then we’ll use this as the evidence base we need to offer informed planning options.
By this stage in the process, we’ll have a clear understanding of your current financial position, your relationship and attitude to money and your hopes for the future. But we also need to understand any risks or obstacles that might have an impact. Are you likely to have caring responsibilities? Do you have health concerns? Are there financial commitments that you simply must meet? Taking the time to identify everything that might challenge your retirement plans puts us in a better position to deal with them successfully.
It’s only at this stage, once we have built a deep understanding of your full financial situation, that we can begin to develop your plan. Our advisers will use the information as an evidence base to create a financial strategy that is tailored specifically for your needs. The plan will respond to your personal situation, structured to protect your assets and promote growth at a level of risk you’re comfortable with. And because it’s based on such a strong foundation, your personalized plan will give you the assurance you need for a secure future.
Of course, creating the plan is only the start; the next stage of our process focuses on implementation. Our in-house portfolio analyst will work with you and your advisor to explore the best ways to put your personalized plan into action. Meeting with the analyst gives you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you want, so that you can gain as much information as you need about your recommended investments. The analyst will be the person placing and managing your assets, so it’s a great chance to unpick the details of how your money will be invested, how it will grow and how you will receive your income.
Even the best laid plans can go awry, particularly when life doesn’t follow the rules. We pride ourselves on our ability to develop successful, long-term relationships with our clients, so we’ll continue working with you to maintain our understanding of your situation, no matter how it changes. We have proven experience on protecting portfolios, spotting any challenges and alerting clients to specific threats and opportunities. Not only will we monitor your plan for any external challenges; if your needs change along the way, as they often do, we’ll also adapt your strategy accordingly.
We know that managing your finances means that you have put your trust in us. We will make sure that this trust is well placed, by providing routine progress reports so that you can see how your financial plan is being managed. Because our focus is on sustainable relationships, we keep in close touch whenever anything needs attention. And you’ll meet with us on a regular basis so that we can discuss progress and make any changes that might be needed.
We believe that our straightforward approach creates the conditions for personalized financial planning that responds to your individual needs. So take advantage of a complimentary planning session and either set up a phone conversation or meet us in person. The session is completely risk free and there’s no obligation to use our services. If we don’t think we can work successfully together, then we’ll be open and honest about that, and understand that you will be, too. We’d love to get to know you, and take the opportunity to help you get the most from your retirement.
